The Story Behind Blokes, Beers & Burritos
Sometimes the messiest chapters lead to the best breakthroughs.
In my twenties, things looked pretty good on the outside – I was hitting targets in my sales job and doing all the ‘right’ things – but behind the scenes, I was lost. I didn’t know who I really was or what I wanted, and I was struggling to feel genuinely happy.
So I set off on a journey of self-discovery that took a lot longer than I expected.
Blokes, Beers & Burritos was my way of sharing that journey, but with a twist. I didn’t want to write a traditional self-help book. I wanted something more fun, more real, and less preachy. So I wrote a novel instead, one filled with ups and downs, the messy bits, the lessons I wish I’d known sooner, and stories from my travels (and mistakes) along the way. At the time, Fifty Shades of Grey was topping the charts, so I figured: why not weave in a few saucy moments to keep it entertaining?
It’s a mix of chick-lit and personal growth – a light-hearted read with real-life takeaways. If The Confidence Breakthrough is the practical toolkit, Blokes, Beers & Burritos is the ride-along story you curl up with. I hope it makes you laugh, think, and feel a little more understood.
While the cover might suggest it’s just for women – and yes, I wrote it with young women in mind -plenty of men have read it and absolutely loved it too. I’ve included some of their reviews below.
